At our October meeting, learn about growing Phragmipedium species and hybrids in home conditions with Andrew Geimar from Roehampton Orchids. Andrew will be with us in person. The talk will focus on different use of potting media, pots, and watering techniques to help you achieve success growing this tricky genera in home conditions (even in low humidity!). The talk will be fun and interactive, with lots of beautiful photos and videos!
Andrew Geimar is co-owner of Roehampton Orchids. He has been growing Phragmipedium for over 8 years. He is an award-winning grower with most of his AOS awards for both Phrags and Paphs (amongst a few others). Andrew tells us that he is a habitual over-waterer and only the wet- loving orchids thrive in his care.
The meeting will be a hybrid meeting. We will have the usual Show Table, raffle and refreshments with a break to chat with our “Ask Me Anything” experts. Members, please bring your plants to the show table by 1:40 pm to allow time for judging. If you are feeling unwell, please join us via Zoom.

The Ottawa Orchid Society is affiliated with the Canadian Orchid Congress (COC) and with the American Orchid Society (AOS). Through these affiliations, the Society is able to obtain world-class speakers for regular meetings.
