Canadian Burnet

Canadian Burnet features impressive airy spikes of white flowers at the ends of the stems from mid summer to early fall. Its textured narrow compound leaves remain grayish green in colour throughout the season. It is a pollinator plant for bees.

It will grow to be about 24 inches tall at maturity, extending to 5 feet tall with the flowers, with a spread of 24 inches.

In nature it is found in prairies, meadows, bogs, along rivers, seepage slopes, and swamps. As such, it can be planted along a stream or pond as part of a pollinator garden.

Caring for Canadian Burnet

This plant will require occasional maintenance and upkeep, and is best cleaned up in early spring before it resumes active growth for the season.

The preference is full sun, wet to moist conditions, and soil containing some organic matter.

It can be propagated by division.
