WHAT: ย The first Perennial Borders were established at the Farm by its founding director William Saunders over 130 years ago. The current Borders were developed in 1970 and continue to evolve with new plant introductions and old favorites. Visitors can see many plants at their full maturity and appreciate the beauty of perennial combinations. The gardens mix perennials of different bloom and foliage types and flowering periods for an ever-changing garden spectacle that returns year after year. These gardens provide an excellent overview of native and other perennial garden plants that grow well in the Ottawa area.
