Guest speaker Melanie Ouellette, from the Ottawa Wildflower Seed Library, will give a lecture titled “Native Plant Gardening”. 

 

At our meeting, we will have a Native Plant Giveaway for CPDHS members only.

Melanie Ouellette

Guest speaker Melanie Ouellette, the chairwoman and founder of the Ottawa Wildflower Seed Library. Ouellette created the Ottawa Wildflower Seed Library to foster Indigenous reconciliation, address climate change and empower women through the collecting, sharing and growing of native plants. She is the 2023 recipient of the Ecology Ottawa Active & Accessible City Award, given to a member of the community who works to improve urban quality of life. Her vision is to create a grassroots movement that is reused around the world so that humans responsibly fulfill their stewardship role in nature through education and sharing seeds for free.
