Modern Sustainable Gardening Practices

Modern Sustainable Gardening Practices

About This Event

At our first meeting of 2026, Alberto Saurez-Esteban (a well-known gardening expert and biologist) will share information on modern sustainable agricultural practices, such as no-till gardening, companion gardening, and pest control, and on how community gardening supports a sense of pride and community.

Our meetings start at 7:00 PM.

Presenter

Alberto is originally from Spain, where he grew up helping his grandparents on their farms and developed a deep fascination for the natural world. Learning is his favourite thing in life, and he finds endless inspiration in Nature. His interest in Nature led him to a career in ecology. During his 10 years in academia, he realized how damaging industrial agriculture is to our planet. He believes in the enormous potential that regenerative agriculture has to produce food that strengthens our health, our communities, our ecosystems, and our climate.
