Deeply inspired by Zen Buddhism, Devasis (Dev) Dasgupta embraces a life of simplicity and contemplation. In this guided meditation session, he invites you on a gentle journey toward cultivating understanding, compassion, peace, and happiness.

Participants will explore foundational techniques including:

  • Mindful breathing
  • Posture alignment
  • Intentional awareness to support inner stillness

“Mindfulness is the cognitive skill, usually developed through meditation, of sustaining meta-attentive awareness towards the contents of one’s own mind in the present.”

The session will also introduce the Zen concept of “No-mind” (無心 – Mushin)—a mental state characterized by clarity and freedom from clinging thoughts or conceptual distractions.

Limited spots available. Reserve yours today and experience the tranquility of meditation in the serene setting of Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden.

Established in 1967 to commemorate Canada’s Centennial, Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden stands as a tribute to the contributions of Japanese Canadians to Lethbridge, Alberta, and as a lasting symbol of international friendship. The name “Nikka Yuko” blends elements of both Japanese and English: Ni (from Nihon, meaning Japan), Ka (from Canada), and Yuko (meaning friendship), representing the deep connection between the two nations.
