Life Among the Stones in August- and it’s a long weekend edition!
Our Plant Walk summer series continues. We meet at Mcdonald Gardens Park, formerly the Sandy Hill Cemetery, located at the corner of Cobourg and Rideau Streets.
Burial sites are home to rich biodiversity. Local herbalist and botanical expert Amber Westfall of The Wild Garden thewildgarden.ca is our guide to the hidden ecology of these sacred spaces. Slow down, look closely, and discover the natural beauty growing among the gravestones. These walks are a gentle, meaningful way to connect with the land, the past, and the present as we remember our beloved dead.
Since this plant walk falls on a long weekend, our outing will continue with a visit to a local patio. Discover the many plants thriving alongside our beloved dead, and then a refreshment & conversation.
