“Food for You and the Bees: Growing a Wild Edible Gardenscape”
About This Event
Tauney Stinson will be presenting a talk focussed on finding food in a wild edible landscape in our own gardens. In her talks to garden clubs and other naturalist organizations in our area, Tauney shares her knowledge about common wild edibles, including many that likely grow in our yard or garden. She uses her humour and years of experience to delve into some of the ethical ramifications of foraging for wild food and suggests ways that foragers and gardeners can be stewards of the land, and gives important safety and sustainability tips for newbies and advanced foragers alike.
(Note: Please check our website and Facebook page on the day of the event to see if the meeting has been cancelled or offered as an online presentation, in the event of inclement weather.)

She is a certified Pollinator Steward, Ontario Master Naturalist, president of the Upper Ottawa Valley Beekeeper's Association, soon-to-be graduate of the Sacred Gardener School, and spent two years as professor for the Wild Edibles class at Algonquin College.
