The West Carleton Garden Club will be holding their monthly general meeting and AGM on Tuesday, November 11th at Carp Memorial Hall, 3739 Carp Rd, Carp, ON K0A 1L0. Doors open at 7:00 p.m.
The guest speaker will be Photographer Karen Thompson who will be sharing photos of flora and fauna from her trip to Alaska in 2024.
The West Carleton Garden Club meets every second Tuesday of the month from September to June. Refreshments are available. Presenter
Karen Thompson is a photographer from the Almonte area. She was born and raised in Geraldton, a small town in Northern Ontario. Karen spent as much time outdoors as she could and in high school belonged to the Outers club. During these years she developed a love of nature and the flora and fauna in it.
In the early 1980’s she bought her first camera to record what she was seeing. She later co-started two photography clubs in Almonte to further learn the mechanics and techniques of Photography. In 2014, she and her husband began to travel extensively, with her camera always going with her. At the upcoming WCGC meeting, she will share the images she took on their trip to Alaska in 2024.
