Planting bulbs is a great way to add tons of color to garden beds for the spring season. There is a huge variety of bulbs available and most of these should be planted in the fall. Mary Sherman Reid will share her knowledge of bulbs to provide 90 days of Spring bloom enjoyment, from April till the end of June. She will focus on how to plan your bulb garden, including how to select, plant and maintain these bulbs.

Mary Shearman Reid, owner of Green Thumb Garden Centre (SE of Merivale and Hunt Club off Bongard), made a transition from banking to horticulture in 1996. Mary has gardening in her blood: her family were avid gardeners, her summer jobs during her university years were in gardens and she continues to garden at home. She combines these practical skills and knowledge with her business and retail skills at Green Thumb. Mary spends much of the summer at Green Thumb and does Green Thumb work at home over the winter. She also teaches for local school boards and does speaking engagements to garden clubs and societies. Mary is a member of Landscape Ontario, a CLP (Certified Landscape Professional) and volunteers as a Master Gardener.
