Event Details

Come and join us on Tuesday, May 13th at Carp Memorial Hall for a lively monthly meeting featuring Bri Petersen of Urban Gardening Canada, who will be presenting on the topic of  gardening in an era of climate change.

Please check the website (www.wcgc.ca ) and/or our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100064805343593 ) on the day of the meeting to confirm if there are any changes to the event (e.g., cancellation because of inclement weather).

Presenter

Bri Petersen

Bri Petersen created the website Urban Gardening Canada as a place for Canadians to
go for gardening information tailored to our cold, northern climate. After
noticing that all the information came from American websites she decided it
was time to create a website specifically for Canadians. Finally, a place
where information is in Celsius, and the crops can actually survive and
thrive in our short Canadian summers! The vision of Urban Gardening Canada
is to provide accessible gardening advice to all Canadians, regardless of
location, housing type or budget. Food security and sustainability are two
of the main pillars of Urban Gardening Canada.
