Cover Crops: building a better soil
Rebecca Boyar has a diverse horticultural background growing a variety of crops, including hydroponic herbs, wheatgrass, and organic vegetables. With over 30 years in the industry, she shares tips and commercial growing techniques to help you become a successful grower.
In this seminar, we’ll dig deeper and unearth the world of cover crops by delving into their role in soil health and the benefits of regenerative gardening. Using cover crops in your garden is one of the most effective practices to slow erosion, build living soil, control weeds, enhance nutrients and moisture availability, help control many pests and bring a host of beneficial insects and pollinators into your garden.
Cover Crops can be seeded almost any time of the season; however, they’re typically planted after your vegetables have finished producing, making late summer and early fall the perfect time for sowing your cover crops.
