About
The Canadensis Native Tree Nursery project is about volunteers collecting and growing native tree seeds, including some rare species to be planted around Ottawa to increase the biodiversity of the urban tree canopy.
On the Canadensis site at the Central Experimental Farm, with the leadership of the Ottawa Field Naturalist’s Club, the Ottawa Horticultural Society, and with a participation of the Ottawa Wildflower Seed Library, the Master Gardeners of Ottawa Carleton and other local organizations, this volunteer project is growing new trees and donating them to community reforestation projects.
