Dundurn Castle and Kitchen Garden

Originally the residence of railway tycoon, attorney, and United Canadas Premier Sir Allan Napier MacNab (1854–1856), together with his family, Dundurn Castle now relates the tale of the upper-class family and the lower-class servants who lived and worked there.

A fantastic kitchen garden on the castle grounds can yield about 9000 pounds of vegetables annually. Experience a guided tour of the restored historic garden, cultivated by costumed staff with over 200 heirloom varieties of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers. Produce is donated to the neighborhood food banks and used in the historic kitchen.
