Thailand’s first botanic garden, located about 30 minutes from Chiang Mai, is now a major tourist site in the Mae Rim district. The garden is situated at altitude in the area mountains, which offers visitors great views from te Garden. The garden itslef covers 560 acres of rocky terrain and displays a diverse collection of plants from all over the world. The garden, which was founded in 1992 to honor HM Queen Sirikit, features various highlights, including a Rainforest Glasshouse where visitors can walk amid a variety of flora from the tropical forests of Asia.
The best time to visit the garden would definitely be in the November to February time window, after the end of the rainy season and before the high heat of March and April.
The canopy walk in Queen Sirikit Botanical Garden is excellently executed. High in the mountains on the one hand, and spanning deep valleys on the other, it offers visitors abundant views of the mountainous area and great look high in trees, including their flora and critters and insects that dwell them.
