Mary will be speaking to us on the topic ‘Start Your Own Herb Garden’ This is about growing some basic herbs with instructions suitable for beginners–and includes some harvesting tips this long-time gardener just learned! There’s information on preserving and using your herbs, too.
All are welcome to share their favourite herb stories, suggestions and ideas.

Mary Crawford
Mary joined Master Gardeners of Ottawa Carleton in 2020 and has enjoyed the science-based learning of both the MG courses at Dalhousie University and the knowledge of her fellow members. In her former life as a high school teacher, she took pleasure in introducing teenagers to growing carrots and herbs for the Gr. 10 Foods classes. The idea for the herb garden presentation may have sprung from there—sharing the love of gardening without getting overly complicated.
