On November 14th, 2024 at 7:00PM at the Churchill Senior Centre, Dr. Jessica Forrest will discuss plant-pollinator interactions. Furthermore, Dr. Forrest will speak about pollinator diversity and the decline we have seen in recent years, and how you, the gardener can help! All are Welcome!
Dr. Forrest studies the evolutionary ecology of plant–pollinator interactions. She is interested in the causes and consequences of variation in species’ life histories and seasonal phonologies—particularly as these traits relate to species interactions. A primary application of her research is in understanding ways that climate change and other forms of global change affect pollinators (especially native solitary bees) and pollination. Her work so far has primarily focused on bees and plants in natural habitats, but she is also interested in how better knowledge of native bee ecology can benefit agriculture.
