Ottawa Orchid Society November 2026 Meeting

In November, discover the captivating world of Polychilos Phalaenopsis, a fascinating group of orchids celebrated for their vibrant colours, intricate patterns, waxy flowers, and often delightful fragrances with Andrew Geimar of Roehampton Orchids. Unlike the familiar supermarket Phalaenopsis, these tropical beauties offer remarkable diversity in flower shape, colour, and growth habits. Andrew will explore the unique characteristics of this group, introduce notable species and hybrids, and share practical advice on cultivation, including light, temperature, humidity, and watering. Whether you’re a seasoned orchid enthusiast or just beginning to explore Phalaenopsis, this presentation will offer an engaging introduction to one of the most rewarding groups of orchids to grow.

The meeting will be a hybrid meeting. We will have the usual Show Table, raffle and refreshments with a break to chat with our “Ask Me Anything” experts.  Members, please bring your plants to the show table by 1:40 pm to allow time for judging. If you are feeling unwell, please join us via Zoom.
