Event Details

Please note! Our upcoming presentation from Sundaura Alford-Purvis has changed.
Unfortunately, Sundaura can’t join us in person but her presentation will go ahead live on our YouTube channel as planned at 7:30. We are still meeting in person at Tom Brown for our seed swap at 7:00 and will watch the presentation there.

Sundaura Alford-Purvis will discuss why swapping native plants for the mostly Asian and European garden plants typically found in nurseries can often have unexpected, even discouraging, results. She will follow this up with a tutorial on how to plan plant combinations that avoid most of the common challenges faced by new native plant gardeners.

Starting with this meeting, we’ll be back at Tom Brown Arena after a 4 year hiatus…yay! Join us in the 2nd floor meeting room at 7:00 for tea, socializing, and a seed swap.
Sundaura’s presentation will start at 7:30 pm and will be live on the OHS YouTube channel:

Added bonus: this summer, Sundaura’s home garden will be part of our members-only garden tours!

Seed swap: Bring your extra seeds — vegetables, herbs, perennials, annuals, any plants! Please have them already packaged in small packets, containers, envelopes, or baggies. Come and browse the selection to find something new and exciting to grow in your garden this year. You don’t have to bring something to take something home
