Stephanie Weirathmueller is a multidisciplinary artist who draws on her Filipino and Austrian cultural heritage, family relationships and natural landscapes to inspire her painting, drawing and writing. She blends themes of compassion, presence and play through her work, After being diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome, she roots her practice in joy, self compassion and mindful engagement. Stephanie has named her residency project Embrace | Gentle Work and will create small graphite and pastel drawings and photographs of her observations which will come to create a larger final composition. She aims to combine elements from a variety of observations while fostering a deeper connection to the landscape She hopes to encourage the public to slow down, notice and reconnect with the environment and creativity.
