Spring Foraging: Mushroom Hunters with Loose Morels

Naturalist Tauney Stinson joins the Kanata-March Horticultural Society’s May meeting to share her knowledge about wild springtime edibles, including the elusive morel mushroom.

Tauney uses her humour and years of experience to delve into some of the ethical ramifications of foraging for wild food and suggests ways that foragers and gardeners can be stewards of the land. She will share important safety and sustainability tips for newbies and advanced foragers alike.

Tauney will have some handmade pottery, foraged goodies, and wildflower honey on hand and available for purchase.

This in-person meeting will be held at the Old Town Hall, 821 March Rd (laneway entrance for the Old Town Hall is on Klondike Rd, across from Shopper’s Drug Mart). Non-members are welcome for a visitor’s fee of $5, or become a member and enjoy our full 2024 program for $15.
