Ikebana for Gardeners

Many gardeners plan their gardens to include flowers for cutting. Ikebana flower-arranging is a centuries-old Japanese art form that emphasizes a meditative approach to flower arrangement. Claire McCaughey, who holds a Second Sanyo Teacher Diploma in the Sogetsu School of Ikebana, will discuss the defining characteristics of Ikebana vis-à-vis Western flower arranging and give a demonstration of Ikebana flower-arrangement.
