Learn about managing rainwater on your property by hard and soft landscaping that encourages rain to filter into the ground, directing downspouts onto grass or gardens, and capturing rainwater in rain barrels, for both climate change resiliency and horticultural benefits. The City of Ottawa’s Rain Ready Ottawa program offers guidance and rebates of up to $5,000 for eligible residents. This topic is particularly timely in light of Ottawa’s recent extreme rain events and resultant flooding.
