Succession planting is a food growing technique you can apply to any growing space (pot or plot) to make maximum use of your garden soil and also of the length of the Ottawa growing season. The presentation will answer the question “why plan garden successions”, as well as provide practical advice on what food plants to grow, impractical choices, and other planning information needed to schedule your successions.

Rob Danforth is an experienced urban organic food gardener (vegetables, herbs, and the flowers that support them) having grown in his backyard for over 45 years, in the Gloucester Allotment Gardens for 14 years, and at Arrowsmith Community Gardens & Gloucester Emergency Food Cupboard Garden for 7 years. Rob is a seasoned instructor with over 9 years of history with Just Food workshop delivery 11 years with Canadian Organic Growers Ottawa Chapter, 3 years with Senior Organic Gardeners, and many more if you can believe it! Rob brings an abundance of knowledge growing in the Ottawa area and a huge willingness to share that knowledge with community members.
