The theme of our March meeting is “Think Green”. We are all increasingly aware of the need to recycle and reuse plastic items in our day-to-day life. Many of our club members have been recycling and reusing items long before environmental concerns were being raised. At our March meeting, we will be having a ‘Show and Tell’ discussion on the different items members have been recycling and reusing. Members, if you have a stockpile of items, please bring them in to share with others. This will be a chance to learn from each other how to reuse and recycle more and more items!
We will also continue to organize and focus on the National Convention coming up on April 29 – May 2.
Guests and visitors are always welcome. At our meetings, we also hold plant and leaf exchanges. There is a monthly raffle, and members can buy plant supplies and borrow reference materials from our loaning library. Coffee, tea and light refreshments are served. Please bring a twoonie to help us with our expenses. If you can bring your own mug it will help us protect the environment too.
Our Society meets at the McNabb Community Centre, 180 Percy St., Ottawa. Social time is 1:30-2:00 and the meeting is from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
