Learn the basics of saving seeds, plant genetics, collection techniques, storage, and viability. Master Gardener Rebecca Last will offer an introduction to seed saving for both beginner, intermediate and expert seed-savers. Rebecca will discuss the differences be-tween hybridized and open-pollenated plants and will revisit Gregor Mendel’s 19th century ex-periments with peas to get a better understanding of dominant and recessive traits. Rebecca will also cover: timing and collection; seed sanitation; and long-tern viability of seeds.
