Event Details

Master Gardeners of Ottawa-Carleton, are planning a celebration for 2022. We invite the local gardening community to join us for Meet the Monarch.

This is a free, family-focused, intergenerational day to learn about pollinators and butterflies and how to support them in our gardens.

We’ll have a pollinator plant sale, a themed bake sale, mini-workshops, First Nations speakers with stories, legends and beliefs about native plants and animals, including the story of the monarch butterfly. Children can join the costume parade dressed up as dragonflies, ladybugs, butterflies and other insects. The event will be organized in a safe way, depending on pandemic protocols in place on June 18.
